The kind of surgery you want to have

Last Thursday the 14th Karen was scheduled for surgery - to have the chest port removed that delivered chemotherapy. This means that she has made it to a point where the risk of recurrence is much lower. We remain humbled by the fact that ovarian cancer has a high recurrence rate, as high as 90%, but after two years that drops dramatically. This is the best kind of surgery we could ask for!
